Subtera’s sub-terahertz passive sensing method is completely safe.

Our passive sensors operate by receiving naturally radiated photons from the operational asset being inspected.  So, unlike X-ray, there are no associated safety risks for personnel working in the vicinity of this screening technology.

The naturally radiated non-ionising sub-terahertz photons that we measure, have always been radiated from corrosion and moisture concealed beneath cladding.

As the processing industries transition away from metal cladding and more widely adopt polymeric cladding, these photons of terahertz light can transmit through the fabric layers and be measured using our technology.
